Do I need to install any software?

No. Everything runs in your browser. The course uses db-fiddle.com, which is free and requires no account. You can start watching and following along immediately after purchase.

Do I need any coding experience?

None at all. The course starts from the very beginning and assumes you've never written a line of SQL. If you know what a spreadsheet is, you have enough context to follow along.

What will I actually be able to do after this?

You'll be able to write queries that pull data from a table, filter it down to what you need, and sort it in a useful order. That covers most of the day-to-day SQL you'll run into as a beginner.

What database does it use?

It uses MySQL. The core concepts you learn (SELECT, WHERE, ORDER BY) work the same way in PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle, and most other databases. The syntax is identical for everything covered in this course.

Is this suitable if I've tried SQL before and it didn't click?

Yes. A lot of people who could benefit from this have watched a YouTube video or two and felt like they were following along but couldn't write a query on their own. The sandbox approach here is different. You write the queries yourself rather than just watching them appear on screen.

How long does the video run?

Just over 30 minutes. You can work through it in one sitting or pause and come back. There's no time pressure and no deadline.
